Our Youth Company is a place to create, experiment and make things happen.
Work with other young people and professional artists to develop your skills,
create original work and get involved in performances, films, events and productions.
Just bring yourself and your ideas.

What could you get involved in?
Youth Company brings together lots of different creative skills and interests.
🎭 Acting & Performance
Develop your confidence, performance skills and ideas through drama, improvisation and performance.
✍️ Lyrics & Writing
Write lyrics, develop stories and turn your ideas into creative work.
🎬 Filming and Media
Learn about filmmaking, cameras, sound, editing and working as part of a film crew.
🎪 Events & Production
Get involved behind the scenes with events, production, technical work and making creative projects happen.
You don't have to choose just one. Try different things, find what you're good at and discover what you enjoy.

Audition Taster
Come along, try some creative activities, meet the team and get a feel for Youth Company.
Don't worry if you've never auditioned before —
it's all about having fun!
After the taster, we'll have a short, friendly chat with you so we can get to know you
and find out what you'd like to get involved in.
Every Saturday · 12–1.30pm
Our regular workshops will be a chance to develop skills, make work together and explore different creative roles.
🎬 Additional sessions · usually 3–5pm
There will also be some extra rehearsals and creative sessions, depending on what we're working on.
Everyone will have opportunities to get involved.

Youth Company Workshare
Bring everything together and share what you've created with a friendly and supportive audience of
other young people at Second Wave. No pressure — just a chance to celebrate everyone's work!
No experience? No problem!
A safe space to explore. New people are always welcome.
Second Wave is a youth arts centre in the heart of Deptford. Our workshops are relaxed, friendly and welcoming. You don't have to be confident when you arrive or know exactly what you want to do. You can try things out, meet other young women and find the creative role that feels right for you.
Everyone is so friendly and there is no judgement...
Want experience in the creative industries?
Youth Company can also be a starting point for gaining practical experience.
As well as taking part in creative projects, young people can develop skills in areas
such as production, events, filmmaking, performance and working as part of a creative team.
For young people looking for more formal experience, Second Wave also offers work experience placements
for young people up to 24.

Walk all the way down Deptford High Street (towards Greenwich side) until you reach Creek Road. There, you will find the big red brick Methodist Mission Building on 1 Creek Road.
